Music by Candlelight Tues July 1st | Rich Batsford
where he will be playing his latest songs including ‘Chromazone’, dedicated to yours truly. as i’ve never had a song written for me before i will be doing some special bits at project x for this. building on the colour scale theory i devised midi feedback relating to the notes he played at the first project x in 2006.
linking this to the new particle engine in visualjockey called particle storm i will project onto dancers tracked with infra red light. should be quite spectacular…
EDIT: from rich’s blog:
Marc Reck shot this nice little bit of video featuring part of my performance of my new piece Chromazone at the Music by Candlelight concert in Moseley last night.
using Rich Batsford‘s experimental piano and the technology involved in chunky move’s ‘glow’ i want to recreate the feeling of this piece at the forthcoming projectxpresents on 14th June:

Great Dance is a blog about just that, and i’m very flattered that they’ve blogrolled me down the right hand side of the main page. i’ve made a couple of comments to the site specifically on the dance-tech bits…
EyeCon – Video Motion Sensing here is Frieder Weiss software for sale that helped in creating Chunky Move’s Glow (actually looking further into it, he may have used his unreleased, newer software, Kalypso). using ir cameras he can track movement even in the dark, and separates it from the projected light. puts out OSC which is nice too.
Beautiful live tracking & projection from chunky move at the kitchen www.thekitchen.org, lovely sound and movement too. will post more when i find out how they did it.

This is meant to be screened in a planetarium dome. Working with Choreographer Lisa Wetton on the Fracture Screen Dance program i made this fulldome film for the Birmingham Digital Planetarium in the Thinktank at Millenium Point. It is an excerpt.
